Background Resume: Road to SummerSlam

                                                 Road to SummerSlam

                                  Seth Rollins    Triple H

- After Rollins once again survived the odds, the COO Triple H had enough of it. “The Game” made a statement by calling out on all the failures that The Authority has backed up, from Randy Orton, to Sheamus and even helping Wyatt, no one seems to be good enough to represent them and the company, with Rollins being the perfect example. Triple H then made a shocking announcement and lets everyone know that at SummerSlam, Seth Rollins will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against “The King of Kings” himself! This made Daniel Bryan come out and put a stop into it by stating that he has earned a title shot and that Triple H has no business putting himself on front of current full-time superstars. The COO and “The Yes Man” went head to head but in order to solve it, a Main Event was scheduled: Seth Rollins vs Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Title! The match was everything fans expected to be until Randy Orton and Batista came out and interfered, leading to the DQ. As both Orton & Batista continued to lay waste on Daniel Bryan, “The Cerebral Assassin” entered the ring and delivered two tremendous Pedigrees to Rollins, stating that the match for SummerSlam was on! But that’s not all! After the beat down, Rollins demanded that another stipulation was added: If he defeats Triple H, The Authority is no more! Will Rollins prove once and for all that he’s above The Authority and end it once and for all or will “The Game” take matters into his own hands and become the king of WWE once more?

                                       John Cena    AJ Styles

- After protecting his own career against the vicious Batista, John Cena went to Monday Night Raw with a plan: to find the right opponent for SummerSlam and keep entertaining the fans. Well, ask no more because no other than AJ Styles came out and stated that if Cena needs a dancing partner, look no further than “The Phenomenal One”! Cena agrees and both men shake their hands as the crowd cheer. During the road to SummerSlam, both mean tried to out-perform each other until Cena showed Styles why he’s called the “Face That Runs the Place” by hitting an AA and sending a clear message! Who will come out on top? “Big Match John” or will AJ Styles show why he’s considering one of the best professional wrestlers on this Earth?

Brock Lesnar  Paul Heyman  CM Punk

- Ever since the events on Extreme Rules, “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar hasn’t been, seen or heard of. But his advocate has. Paul Heyman came to Monday Night RAW and gave the WWE an ultimatum: either they give him the man who attacked Brock Lesnar or they will NEVER see him or his client ever again. Heyman called out Triple H and Vince McMahon but instead we finally got the mysterious Masked Man..... The man then revealed himself to be no other than.... CM Punk! “The Straight Edge Superstar” apparently returned to the company, noting how he managed to get a deal worth of the Dwayne’s and Hogan’s and that he returned for himself and not for anyone else. CM Punk then embraced a confused Heyman, who tried to warn him that Brock wouldn’t be happy. During the weeks that followed, Paul Heyman saw himself in the middle of the conflict between a raging Brock Lesnar and an overconfident CM Punk, with both men playing into Heyman’s friendship. The former ECW boss tried his best to prevent a battle between the two but it was impossible as CM Punk wanted to prove he can slay a beast and that his MMA attempt wasn’t all for nothing. A match was then set up for SummerSlam: The Best vs The Beast Part 2! Will the returning CM Punk’s new found MMA skills prove enough to put down Lesnar or will the former UFC Champion destroy Punk once again? How will Heyman react?

                                            Bray Wyatt    The Rock

- “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt went on a mission to expose the truth to the world. And that truth was that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a phony and a liar. For months, the leader of The Wyatt Family spoke in riddles, never mentioning “The Great One”, attacking several superstars and even stealing Rollin’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship. All of that to bring out The Rock. Be careful what you wish for! The Rock took some time off his ever so busy schedule to make his presence felt on Monday Night RAW and showing that he isn’t scared or even impressed with Wyatt’s mind games. The exchange of words then led to a huge blockbuster match for SummerSlam! The return of “The People’s Champion” to a WWE ring! Will Rock show Wyatt his place or will “The New Face of Fear” stain the image of The Rock to the whole world?

                                             Kevin Owens    Roman Reigns

- Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns have been on a heated rivalry for months. “The PrizeFighter” has been able to outsmart “The Big Dog” and retain his United States Championship. Despite earning himself a future WWE World Heavyweight Championship shot by winning Money in The Bank, Roman Reigns didn’t want to let Owens escape so easily and kept on his relentless pursuit to win the U.S Championship! Kevin Owens tried to weasel his way out of another title defence against “The PowerHouse” but to no avail as both men were then schedule to meet one final time at SummerSlam! Will Owens survive one last time or will Roman reign supreme this time?

                                          Shane McMahon    WWE Intercontinental Championship

- With the shocking return of Shane McMahon came shocking and interesting news! Introducing AJ Styles at Money in The Bank was just the beginning! The son of WWE’s Chairman announced that starting after SummerSlam, the Brand Split would be back! Shane-O-Mac then explained how he wants to bring back SmackDown and this time to be a live show, much to the excitement of the crowd! But that wasn’t all! SmackDown was not the only thing returning, as the Intercontinental Championship would make a comeback as well! Shane explained how he talked to NXT General Manager William Regal and both agreed to a trade: The Intercontinental Championship returns to the main roster while NXT gets a brand-new NXT Television Championship! To finish it off, Shane announced that at SummerSlam, the vacant Intercontinental Championship will be up for grabs in a Fatal 4-Way Match which includes Dean Ambrose, Cesaro, The Miz and Alberto Del Rio! Who will win the historic prize and bring it back to the spotlight it deserves?

                                New Day    The Wyatt Family

- The New Day might have won the WWE Tag Team Championships at Money in The Bank but that wasn’t the only thing they won. They also got some serious and dangerous enemies in the form of The Wyatt Family! The monstrous trio stopped at nothing to get revenge for what happened and even attempted to kidnap Kofi Kingston several times, only to be stopped by his fellow stablemates Big E and Xavier Woods. The time for jokes was over as this was becoming a matter of survival, especially after Strowman attacked Big E in an airport before the WWE stars were about to catch a flight to the next town! With this getting this dangerous, there was no alternative than to make a rematch at SummerSlam: The New Day vs The Wyatt Family and this time it will be a 6-Man Elimination Tag Team Match! Will New Day show enough guts to held on to their titles or will The Wyatt’s end their dreams and become their nightmare?

Team Hell No    Batista & Randy Orton

- Despite earning himself a WWE World Heavyweight Championship shot, Daniel Bryan’s issues with The Authority don’t seem to end. After overcoming the vicious Randy Orton in a Best of 5 Series, Bryan watched “The Game” Triple H insert himself in the title picture and announced himself as the new Nº1 Contender, apparently ignoring Bryan’s opportunity. This lead to “The Yes Man” to come out and get in Triple H’s face once again and after a very heated exchange of words, the COO decided that Bryan’s shot was going to be on Monday Night RAW, to the delight of the WWE Universe! The problem was that Triple H had no intentions of letting Bryan win and so he went to some familiar faces to make sure that wouldn’t happen….. Randy Orton and Batista, former colleagues of Triple H during their time in Evolution, came out and brutally assaulted Bryan, ending the match with a DQ and therefore, Rollins retained. In the following weeks, we saw Orton & Batista taking out their frustrations of recent disappointments on Bryan but that would end when a certain monster make his presence felt! “The Big Red Monster” Kane returned after months and went on to even the odds against Evolution, apparently reuniting with Bryan in this battle! Quickly the whole situation lead to a Tag Team Match at SummerSlam! Team Hell No vs Evolution! Who will emerge victorious?
