Monday Night RAW Episode 8

- Welcome everyone to Monday Night RAW! We’re in for a treat tonight as Batista and the returning Dolph Ziggler fight in a Nº1 Contenders Match for the opportunity to challenge the Intercontinental Champion Cesaro! But there’s more! Our WWE Champion Roman Reigns will be in action for the first time since winning the title at SummerSlam as he faces “The World’s Largest Athlete” The Big Show!

- But right now it seems it’s time to hear from our RAW General Manager Shawn Michaels who saw himself in the middle of controversy after the final events of last week’s show. “The Showstopper” delivered a Sweet Chin Music to Seth Rollins and the reactions have been off the charts. HBK hears some boos and starts by saying that he deserves that. He admits he went over the line and shouldn’t have done what he did to Rollins. He goes on to say what he did was wrong and it will never happen again because he is here, on RAW, to make the best show possible and take care of business, not to get into physical altercations with his own stars and for that, he apologizes. Michaels then says that, although he is sorry for what he did, people need to understand why he did it. HBK goes on and says how everyone thinks they can use him for their own purposes just because he’s friends with Triple H and that makes him furious. Triple H isn’t here anymore and he is NOT Triple H, he’s “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels and people better not forget about that! Shawn gets heated up and continues saying that he deserves respect and he won’t tolerate crap from anyone as long as he is General Manager and everyone back there better get used to it…..

- As Michaels finishes his sentence, Seth Rollins theme plays and out comes the former WWE Champion. Rollins quickly enters the ring and asks if Michaels is done. Because what he heard was lies after lies and excuses after excuses. “The Architect” begins to rant about how Shawn may fool everyone else but not him. He’s angry because Triple H was sent packing but doesn’t admit it. Rollins tells Michaels to admit it, it’s alright. He knows he is here to continue Triple H’s and The Authority’s work and that was evident last week. From stripping him of his LEGAL rematch clause, to putting him against Randy Orton, who is obviously a friend of Triple H, it all adds up to what he’s saying. Seth Rollins gets closer to HBK and tells him to Super Kick him again because this time, he has a response ready to go. HBK and Rollins get closer but Shawn says he’s not playing this game. He admitted he was wrong and has apologized for it. If Rollins accepts it or not, it’s none of his concern but he does have a point about something. Michaels confirms that it was wrong of him to take his rematch clause, which is legally his and for that reason he’s making it official right now: at Clash of Champions, it’s going to be Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship! The crowd pops for the decision as Rollins seems surprised by the change of heart. HBK then begins to leave but not before saying some words of advice. He warns Rollins that he’s too worried about him when he’s forgetting that Triple H has A LOT of friends out there……

- Michaels then exits the ring as Rollins looks puzzled with his words.

- We return to the broadcast where Michael Cole informs us that tonight a new Nº1 Contender for the Intercontinental Championship is going to be determined! It will be “The Animal” Batista against the returning “Show Off” Dolph Ziggler! After his unexpected return last Monday, Ziggler has made perfectly clear that he has his sights set on getting some revenge on Randy Orton for putting him out of commission months ago with a brutal punt to the head. Word backstage is that Ziggler was told to retire after this last concussion but clearly that was not the case and apparently, Shawn Michaels rewarded Ziggler’s guts with this opportunity, feeling that “The Show Off” had every reason to attack Orton, something that “The Viper” hasn’t taken very well. Will things get even more personal on tonight’s Nº1 Contenders Match or will this be the beginning of Ziggler’s rebirth? Guess we’ll have to wait and find out but right now it’s “The King” Neville against Kalisto in singles action! NEXT!

Match 1 – Neville  VS  Kalisto

Highlights

 - The match starts with complete domination by Neville who hits a beautiful Brainbuster!

- "The King" continued his incredible display of power and athleticism by delivering a standing hurricanrana on Kalisto!

 - Not letting go, Neville goes on and plants the Lucha Dragon with a nasty DDT! Brutal!

- Finally showing some life, Kalisto counters with a jawbreaker!

- The mexican superstar gained some much needed momentum and hit a picture perfect Snap Suplex!

- Time to take it to the air! Kalisto with a great Senton from the top rope! Neville is in trouble!

- With "The King" completely overwhelmed with Kalisto's offense, the Lucha Dragon delivered the final blow with Salida Del Sol but it wasn't enough to secure the victory! So close!

- Neville catches Kalisto off guard with a strong kick and delivers a fantastic Dead-Lift German Suplex! What a display of power!

- In a matter of seconds, Kalisto sees himself stuck in a Guillotine Hold and has no other way but to tap out! No chances there!

                                                           Winner by Submission: Neville
- Not satisfied with the victory, the now brutal Neville grabs a steel chair from outside and begins stalking the fallen mexican superstar!

- Fortunately for Kalisto, his tag team partner Sin Cara arrives just in time to save him from what looked like a vicious beating, sending Neville running! This new nasty attitude won't bring many friends for Neville, that's for sure.

- Back from a break, Michael Cole and JBL hype the upcoming RAW PPV, Clash of Champions, mentioning how, so far, only the Main Event has been announced, with WWE Champion Roman Reigns defending against “The Architect” Seth Rollins, in what promises to be an intense match! Moving to another subject, there’s apparently more news about The Undertaker’s possible return to full-time action. Several sources say that “The Deadman” is indeed serious about returning to the ring for the long run and it might be sooner than everyone thinks! It seems Undertaker might be appearing at Clash of Champions PPV but if this is true or not, needs to be seen. Coming up next, it’s “The Elite Athlete” Apollo Crews against “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus!

Match 2 – Apollo Crews  VS  Sheamus

Highlights

 - "The Celtic Warrior" starts off nicely, overpowering Crews and hitting a Powerslam!

- Displaying his usual aggressiveness, Sheamus connects with a German Suplex!

- After countering the Irishman, Apollo goes for a fantastic Inverted DDT!

- Getting fired up, "The Superior Athlete" goes for the top rope Splash! 2 Count!

- Apollo Crews doesn't slow down and hits a back suplex and clotheslines "The Celtic Warrior" to the outside as the crowd cheer!

- But Sheamus wouldn't take it and quickly regained some control with a suplex into the rope!

- Sheamus then plants Crews with a powerful White Noise! Almost a 3 Count!

- Noticing the disorientation in his opponent, the Irishman tried to put an end to the bout with his vicious Brogue Kick!

- Showing increbile awareness, Crews counters the Brogue Kick and nails a devastating Apollo Landing Powerbomb!

- With a controversial 2 Count by the referee, Apollo gets distracted long enough for Sheamus to deliver his long forgotten Celtic Cross finisher and securing the win! Apollo Crews can't seem to catch a break!

                                                                  Winner: Sheamus

- After the commercial break we go backstage where we see a very frustrated Apollo Crews, who still can’t believe he let another win slip away. Suddenly, Heath Slater passes by and inadvertently bumps into Crews, quickly apologizing for it and telling him how great he looked in the ring just now.

- As soon as Slater turns his back, an unhinged Crews hits a strong punch and begins unloading on Slater!

- The violent Crews throws Slater around like a ragdoll!

 - Crews nails the trash can right on Heath's face! What on earth is happening with Apollo??

 - The brutality didn't stop, sending Slater against the rails with full force!

- The exclamation point comes when Crews goes for a brutal Apollo Landing Powerbomb on the floor! Someone needs to help Heath Slater right now.....

- Back at ringside, Cole and JBL seem surprised about what just happened backstage. Cole says how Crews lost his mind and that those defeats and lack of support are starting to catch up to him. JBL mentions how he knew Apollo had in him and all he needed was to stop trying to be someone he isn’t and just start showing everyone that he’s a world class athlete! Bradshaw then says what he did to Slater was justified for stealing Apollo’s win last week and now apparently mocking him for his defeat with Sheamus! Michael Cole goes on and says that’s farfetched at best and that Heath Slater was just passing by and congratulated Crews for his match. Cole ends the subject wondering what is going through Apollo’s mind right now. We go to commercial once more.

- We’re back on Monday Night RAW and here it comes the man who slayed “The Beast” at SummerSlam and made his return to WWE, “The Best in The World” CM Punk! And apparently, he has Paul Heyman by his side, which won’t make Lesnar happy one bit. After a couple of “CM PUNK” chants, the former UFC star begins by saying how everyone seems very happy to see him tonight.

- Punk goes on and says that he never thought he would be back on Monday Night RAW after SummerSlam, not because he was afraid of Brock Lesnar but because he was certain this would be a one-time deal and he would be gone, never to be seen again in WWE. And that was the deal. CM Punk lets everyone know that Vince McMahon came crying to his doorstep, begging for him to return. He even apologized! Punk makes fun of McMahon and goes on, saying how it was a pathetic sight and he wishes he recorded it, it would make for some great mainstream news, which is what WWE cares about. “The Second City Saint” says that after everything that happened, Vince still wanted him and he wanted NOTHING to do with WWE….. Until he saw this as an opportunity to see how far he could take the good old Chairman. Punk says he demanded more money for his match against Brock than most people here combined earn in a year! But, incredibly, there was more! Punk says after Vince asked him what it would take for him to stay, he began spitting out the most ridiculous things he could think of: a jet, a personal bus, a LOT of ice cream bars, a future Hall of Fame induction, MORE money, lots and lots of it and……. Part-time schedule. The crowd begins to boo. CM Punk says people can boo that and he understands it. He was against part-timers and now he’s informing everyone he is one! Isn’t that ironic? Punk continues and says, honestly, he doesn’t care anymore. If WWE doesn’t care if they waste money on people who aren’t here every single week, why should he? He didn’t even want to be here! But this was just too good to pass on and stick it on Vince McMahon’s old ass. Punk then lets everyone know that he is indeed here, on RAW, doing whatever he wants, whenever he wants and there’s not a single thing anyone can do about it. If Vinny Mac wants to fire him, go ahead. Even more money. Punk begins wondering if after that, WWE can still pay the absurd amount of money they do to John Cena or Brock Lesnar. He thinks not. Punk then changes subject and address the situation with Heyman. Punk says how everyone thinks he beat Lesnar because of Heyman when that’s simply not true. What is true is that Heyman had an epiphany and remembered who his real friends truly are. That’s why he did what he did and I applaud him for his guts, something most of you here lack. Guts, balls and everything else that makes a man. Paul Heyman looks at Punk with an uncomfortable look in his face. “The Best in The World” then talks about Curtis Axel and the beating he received last week at the hands of Brock Lesnar. Punk says Axel is currently at home taking care of some injuries, that could have been way worse and serious. Lesnar could have ended his career! On a side note, Punk takes another shot at McMahon and goes on to say how apparently nothing changed around here, since they seem to continue using that dreadful name “Curtis Axel” when his REAL NAME IS CURTIS HENNIG! HENNIG! Punk says he knows WWE doesn’t want that to be said, God only knows why but he doesn’t care, he says what he wants and what he wants is for Curtis to be called by his real name like he deserves! A name with meaning! This is why this piece of......

- Before CM Punk could finish his non-PG sentence, Mr.McMahon’s theme plays to a great pop! Out comes the Chairman of WWE, who doesn’t look very pleased with what he just heard. Mr.McMahon enters the ring and stares both Heyman and Punk.

- Vince starts by saying how its…… a displeasure to see that CM Punk also hasn’t changed one bit. He’s still that obnoxious, egotistical and miserable human being he has always been. The Chairman then begins correcting Punk about a couple of things, noting how some of those demands are still under discussion and he never agreed to any of it. Actually, he isn’t sure if those “demands” are on the table anymore after what he just heard.

- CM Punk begins laughing while Heyman looks preoccupied. McMahon jokes with Heyman and tells him to light up, Lesnar isn’t here tonight, which makes Heyman extremely satisfied and relieved. Vince then says it’s a shame because he was very interested in seeing what Brock wanted to do, as the crowd cheers. Mr.McMahon then goes back to CM Punk and tells him that it’s incredible how much crap he can spit in so little time, noting how Punk’s MMA career was so great that he now pretends he doesn’t need the WWE. He then tells Punk “keep telling yourself that, pal”. Vince continues and says how CM Punk thinks he can get away with everything and how he pretends to care for someone like Curtis Axel, just so the internet worships him once more so that’s why, next week, it’s going to be CM Punk against his “buddy” Curtis Hennig! Let's see how much you seem to "care" for him!

- Punk looks upset but quickly smirks at Vince before telling a very concerned Heyman to leave! Guess CM Punk’s mouth has put him in another troublesome situation! Coming up next, Enzo Amore & Big Cass will face The Usos in tag team action!

Match 3 – Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady  VS  The Usos

Highlights

- The Usos controlled the early stages of the match, with Jimmy delivering a Samoan Drop with authority!

- Keeping the pressure, Jimmy Uso followed with a fantastic Falcon Arrow on Enzo!

- Enzo can't catch a break but goes get a Crossbody Dive for his troubles! "The Certified G" clearly needs to tag his partner in!

- Speaking of desperation, Amore finds an opening and targets Jimmy Uso's leg before tagging in Big Cass for a pop!

- The big man quickly overpowers his opponent and hits a beautiful Delayed Vertical Suplex!

- Unfortunately for the "The Realest Guys in the Room", The Usos showed all of their experience and put a stop to Big Cass with a double Hip Toss!

- Jey Uso then slowed down the pac.

- It's easier said than done, as Big Cass makes a comeback!

- After tagging in, a red-hot Enzo Amore went for a Running Neckbreaker on Jey Uso!

- A quick reversal again puts Enzo in trouble as the Samoan brothers double team him!

- As Big Cass begs for a tag, Jimmy Uso kicks the big guy to the outside and hits a powerslam!

- Suddenly, The Miz's theme plays and out comes "The Awesome One" alongside R-Truth, who begins mocking Enzo's entrance!

- Enzo Amore finally realizes what's happening and begins calling out Awesome Truth!

- Unfortunately, the distraction was fatal as Jey Uso nails a brutal Super Kick right on the jaw! Just brutal!

- Adding insult to injury, The Uso locked in a Half Boston Crab, giving Enzo no alternative but to tap out!

                                                   Winners by Submission: The Usos

- After the match is over, Big Cass rushes to his partner's side, realizing that The Miz and R-Truth have pulled a fast one on them. Things seem to be getting heated between the two teams!

- Back to the announcers table, JBL is giving props to Miz and his intelligence, noting how “The Awesome One” has pulled a fast one on those two clowns, who had no business interfering last week. He continues ripping into the former NXT superstars, stating how they are a waste of space on RAW and that this is was lesson number one from The Awesome Truth! Cole chips in and argues with JBL over The Miz’s actions, saying that Enzo and Big Cass only tried to save Cesaro from a vicious beating, one that was totally uncalled for. Michael Cole then goes as far as saying that Miz and R-Truth keep showing how spineless they really are, always talking trash but backing out when things get serious. JBL again says it’s a genius move from a genius mastermind, which is exactly what The Miz is! Cole then shifts the subject to another uncalled attack that happened last Monday. After John Cena quickly defeated Bo Dallas, a debuting Baron Corbin delivered a surprise End of Days to “The Cenation Leader”, leaving him lying on the ground but tonight, Cena can get some payback! John Cena quickly asked RAW General Manager Shawn Michaels for a match against “The Lone Wolf”, which was immediately granted! Will Baron Corbin keep his momentum going or will John Cena show the newcomer that he isn’t going to let him make a name for himself at his expenses? We’ll figure it out, NEXT!

Match 4 – John Cena  VS  Baron Corbin

- As John Cena makes his entrance, the sneaky Baron Corbin appears from behind and nails a devastating steel chair shot!!

- The beatdown continues as a defenseless John Cena has no idea what's happening! What a coward attack!

- Corbin doesn't seem to stop any time soon!

- "The Lone Wolf" finishes his message to John Cena by hitting a brutal End of Days on the steel chair! Monday Night RAW is getting out of control and Corbin is a perfect example of it.....

- We return backstage where a very upset Randy Orton calls Shawn Michaels. “The Viper” starts ripping on Michaels and his decision to put Ziggler in a Nº1 Contenders Match against Dave after what he did last week. Orton says this would never happen if Triple H was in charge and just shows how soft HBK really is. Michaels stops Orton right there and shouts that this is the last time someone disrespects him on HIS own show. He says that, for the last time, he is NOT Triple H and he doesn’t want to be Triple H and the sooner people get that, the better. He calls Orton a prodigy but that often slacks and wants everything handed to him. He then says that what Orton did to Ziggler months ago was despicable but it was the Orton he knew so that’s why he’s giving Ziggler the opportunity to become who he was as well, all of it to make Monday Night RAW a better show. Orton looks at HBK and finishes off with a serious threat, noting that if this is the path HBK wants to take, things will not end well for anyone. One must wonder if HBK will be able to keep the order on RAW......

- We return to the broadcast where Cole mentions the heated exchange between RAW General Manager and Randy Orton. He reminds the viewers that this is the second time tonight that Michaels has come face to face with one of his own superstars, mentioning the opening segment between Seth Rollins and “The Show Stopper” and how things may slip out of hand… JBL agrees and also reminds everyone what just happened between John Cena and Baron Corbin. They show a replay of Corbin’s attack during Cena’s entrance and the vicious attack with a steal chair. Cole says that RAW is starting to become a little chaotic and that Shawn Michaels really needs to get his hand on things while JBL says that with Triple H, none of this would have happened, claming that “The Game” always had everything under control. Michael Cole goes back to the Cena/Corbin situation and informs that Cena may have a slight concussion after the End of Days right into the steel chair. We’ll keep everyone posted as soon as we get more info but right now, it’s time for the Nº1 Contenders Match for the Intercontinental Championship! Dolph Ziggler and Batista will battle for an opportunity to challenge Cesaro at Clash of Champions! Who will emerge victorious? Find out NEXT!

                                                   Nº1 Contenders Match

                                                 Intercontinental Championship

Match 5 – Dolph Ziggler  VS  Batista

Highlights

- "The Animal" caught Ziggler by surprise with a powerful Spinning Side Slam!

- The Hollywood star continued his dominant display and showed that he wasn't playing around.

- With sheer power, Batista lifts "The Show Off" by his legs and hits a Sitout Powerbomb! Incredible!

- Known for his great resilency, Dolph Ziggler turns the tide and hits a modified neckbreaker!

- Keeping "The Animal" down while, obviously, showing off.

- A frustrated Batista tried to change the direction of the match but Ziggler denies it with a great fireman's carry!

- The former World Champion manages to get some air after a strong Big Boot!

- As Batista begins stalking "The Show Off", he receives a surprise Famouser! Almost a 3 Count! So damn close!

 - With the opportunity presenting itself, Ziggler begins tuning up the band and goes for the Super Kick and perhaps, the victory!

- The Super Kick gets countered and "The Animal" goes for an outstanding Spinebuster! Almost broke him in half!

- A raging Batista goes for the clothesline but Ziggler ducks and ends up taking out the referee!

- Dolph finally nails the Super Kick but this time, there's no referee around!

- Out of nowhere, "The Viper" Randy Orton slides in and delivers a tremendous RKO! He said things wouldn't end up well......

- Batista crawls for the cover as the referee regains his senses! The 3 count! "The Animal" is the NEW Nº1 Contender thanks to Randy Orton!

Winner and NEW Nº1 Contender for the Intercontinental Championship: Batista

- While Batista celebrates, Randy Orton enters the ring once again with the crowd booing him without mercy.

 - The vicious "Viper" slowly picks up Ziggler and throws him out of the ring like he's trash as both men celebrate this tainted victory and despicable actions.

- Back at ringside, the commentators discuss the repercussions of Orton’s actions after HBK’s warnings to “The Viper”. JBL says it’s an eye for an eye and that Orton didn’t do anything different from what Ziggler did last week so it’s only fair! JBL also mentions that Orton’s evaluation match from last week could have put him on his way to face Reigns for the WWE Championship but it was “The Show Offs” disgusting acts that prevented such a thing so now he got a taste of his own medicine! Cole then officially says that Cesaro vs Batista for the Intercontinental Championship is on for Clash of Champions and that next week, “The Swiss Superman” will address the situation, live, on RAW! Carrying on, Cole shows a replay from last week’s vicious assault from Erick Rowan and two other individuals on The New Day. The WWE Tag Team Champions were about to face The Lucha Dragons when Erick Rowan, a former member of The Wyatt Family appeared on stage. It’s no secret that The Wyatts and The New Day have been in the mix of an intense rivalry but all of it seemed done for when “The Eater of Worlds” and his minions Luke Harper and Braun Strowman were drafted to SmackDown Live, leaving “The White Sheep” all by himself on RAW. Or so it seemed. Two men, who seemed to be NXT superstars Eric Young and Tommy End, viciously attacked Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, while Rowan delivered a scary Big Boot on Big E against the ring post. Sources tells us that Big E and Woods are not here tonight since both men were advised to not show up and tend to their injuries but we do know that Kofi Kingston is here and he has some words to say about the whole situation! JBL mentions that no one has any info on why the attack happened and if those two men are signed to RAW or not but one thing is for sure, they are targeting the WWE Tag Team Champions! We’ll soon know more after this commercial break.

- Welcome back to RAW and as promised, out comes WWE Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston, who doesn’t seem very pleased and isn’t doing any of his usual dancing. Kofi asks for the music to be cut off and says that tonight, he isn’t in any mood for jokes. He’s actually concerned. He’s concerned about what happened to his brother’s Big E and Xavier Woods, who can’t be here tonight as the crowd boos. He quickly informs everyone that both men will be on RAW next week so they are ok, considering everything. Kofi calls last week’s attack a coward one and a trap because that’s the only way they can get The New Day. With tricks and traps. Kofi admits they got caught but that won’t ever happen again, no matter how many friends Rowan gets because NEW DAY ROCKS!

- Suddenly, three hooded men appear on the crowd and start making their way to the ring. Each individual is wearing a protective mask and they quickly surround the ring, leaving Kofi confused.

- They take their time staring at Kofi until they enter and begin assaulting the WWE Tag Team Champion, giving him no chance of retaliation. One of the hooded men brings a chair to the ring and brutally swings nonstop on a defenseless Kingston. The crowd boos while the trio keeps the attack going, with one of them resembling Erick Rowan behind the mask.

-  Another member picks up the chair and hits a vicious shot before posing to a displeased crowd.... Who the hell are these guys and what do they want?

- We return to ringside where Cole is still shocked about yet another vicious attack that happened moments ago. Michael Cole wonders who are these men and why are they doing these brutal assaults, questioning if one of them was Erick Rowan. JBL confirms that he also thinks the big man was Rowan but the other two are still a mystery. He recalls some websites mentioning that its Eric Young and Tommy End, two well-known independent superstars but there’s no confirmation yet. Cole goes on and states that if this continues, RAW will become a war zone and someone needs to put these guys in order or, if needed, get them out of here. JBL agrees and wonders if next week The New Day will be able to make it to RAW, considering the amount of punishment they’ve received. Changing the subject, next we’re going to see our NEW WWE Champion Roman Reigns in action for the first since winning the title at SummerSlam! After years of polarizing reactions, “The Big Dog” finally snapped and lashed out on the fans, stating that everything he does is in spite of them and no matter how much they complain on the internet on even in the arenas, he will keep being shoved down their throats like they deserve. This change in attitude led many WWE Legends to become critical of Roman, stating how he couldn’t endure the negativity and became a bitter young man. So, on tonight’s Main Event, the new Roman Reigns will go face to face with “The Largest Athlete in The World” The Big Show! Will the champion start his reigns by putting down a giant or will Big Show put a nasty stop to Roman’s new attitude? Find out NEXT!

Main Event – Roman Reigns  VS  Big Show

Highlights

- A huge powerslam and a chin lock gives the early lead to The Big Show.

- The giant continues his display of power and strength by manhandling the WWE Champion all over the place!

- Reigns manages to use Big Show's own momentum against him and sends him against the ring post on the outside.

- It was what the WWE Champion needed to get some control on the match. He then follows up with a Spinning Headlock elbow drop!

- Showing a mean streak, Roman Reigns delivers a neckbreaker and quickly begins targeting the big man's head with multiple nasty elbow shots.

- The damage was done and Reigns covered for the impressive and dominant win!

                                                             Winner: Roman Reigns

- Right after the bout ended, Seth Rollins quickly entered the ring and an intense staredown took place, with both men trash talking each other.

- Roman tried a cheap shot on "The Architect" but Rollins, like a cat, avoids it and starts unloading on the WWE Champion, sending him flying to the outside as the crowd pops!

- A frustrated Reigns looks at Rollins with disgust while the former WWE Champion celebrates in the ring, showing that he's focused and ready to regain what he considers rightfully his! Thank you all for watching and good night!
