Universe Rivalries and Feuds
- Seth Rollins is the man to beat. The WWE World Heavyweight
Champion has been on a row lately, after having another successful title
defence against his nemesis, Dean Ambrose. But, that’s not the whole
story. Most of “The Architects’” current success is directly connected
with…. The Authority. That’s right, Triple H and Kane has made sure that
their “project” is protected and continues his path to glory, to a
point that “The King of Kings” even paid for the services of JeriShow,
everything to keep Rollins on top. Well, that might not be enough. “The
Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar is, once again, on the hunt for Rollins
and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after defeating Roman Reigns
on RAW in a Wrestlemania Rematch, therefore earning the right to face
the champion at Extreme Rules. Will The Authority be able to keep
Rollins momentum going or will Lesnar take them all on a trip to…..
Suplex City?
- Fans rejoiced with the return of Daniel Bryan to action after a
long hiatus. The “Yes Man” quickly showed his desire to regain HIS WWE
World Heavyweight Championship but he was quickly interrupted by…. Randy
Orton. But this is not your ordinary Orton, this is him, in his most
vicious, psychopathic version. “The Viper”, without saying a word,
stared at Bryan long enough to release a simple….. smirk to the
returning hero, hinting at a possible reigniting of their epic rivalry.
- The Wyatt Family is here. Unfortunately for most. After weeks of
sounding defeats at the hands of several WWE and NXT superstars, Bo
Dallas started rethinking his position on the wrestling business and
apparently was considering…. Retiring. That was until The Wyatt Family
appeared before him. Bray Wyatt, acknowledging Dallas as his real-life
brother, gave him his hand and whispered these words…. “One by one….
We’ll make them all pay…”. Dallas, still shocked, seemed to agree and
supposedly, joined their ranks. One must think what could Wyatt possibly
meant by those words….
- The United States Champion John Cena doesn’t seem to slow down.
After once again retaining his championship in a hard fought battle
against Sheamus, “The Champ” opened Monday Night Raw with another U.S
Open Challenge. So far so good. Problem was, the man who answered the
call…. “The Animal” Batista! Surprisingly, Batista told the champion
that he doesn’t care for the title, he just wants to finish something he
should have finished a long time ago….. his career. The two veterans
locked horns and when Batista gained the upper hand and had Cena locked
in the “Batista Bite” submission hold, one Kevin Owens appeared,
distracting “The Animal” long enough for Cena to hit the AA and
retaining the championship. But that wasn’t all. Owens entered the ring
and laid Cena down with an earth shaking Pop-Up Powerbomb, screaming
“IT’S MINE! IT’S MINE!, apparently showing signs that he is, indeed,
still obsessed with gaining the US Title.
- The Prime Time Players have been dominating the tag team
division. After another successful defence against The New Day, new
challengers started appearing from all corners. Awesome Truth, Gold
& Stardust, Cesaro & Kidd, JeriShow and The Usos have their
sights set on the gold and one must think how JeriShow’s relation with
the Authority will play a part in this, possibly using their influence
to rank up. The Champions need to be alert at all times.
- After the decision was made to discontinue Smackdown
programming, Triple H got the opportunity to take his project, NXT, to
new highs. And that’s exactly what he did. After gaining a network
contract, NXT became its own brand, with a different target and with a
different philosophy. While Monday Night RAW, the flagship show, is
filled with storylines and major angles, NXT became the place for pure
wrestling, where new and past generations could show the world what they
could do. Obviously, storytelling is still part of the show but the
main goal is…. Wrestling.
- From the moment the major news was released, many known names
started getting interested in the opportunity. Names such as Rey
Mysterio or Rob Van Dam returned to the organization with hopes of
having the best time possible. But the biggest name was yet to come:
Kurt Angle. “The Olympic Gold Medallist” was granted release from his
TNA contract and finally managed to make an agreement with Triple H for a
return. But the biggest surprise was Angle’s request… the NXT brand.
Wish granted. It should also be noted that Rey Mysterio, Rob Van Dam and
Kurt Angle all have part-time contracts that allow them to take time
off at certain times.
- The NXT Champion Finn Balor has been nothing short of
impressive. Since winning the title from Kevin Owens, the “Demon King”
retained against the likes of Tyler Breeze and Baron Corbin. Waiting for
his next challenge, a shocking moment took place…. Corey Graves
returned from his retirement, apparently concussion free, and stared at
the champion, pointing directly at the NXT Championship and saying….
“I’m back”. Fans are excited with the return of Graves and hopefully, he
will find success this time.
- There’s a new gang in town and their name is “The Rose Express”.
After failing to find glory on their own, Adam Rose, Fandango and Tyler
Breeze made an agreement, with the goal of “take everything we
deserve”. And they were quick in making their presence felt, when they
attacked Christian and Baron Corbin backstage, leaving both superstars
bruised. Once must think what’s next for the group and their apparent
“TakeOver”.
- After a great contest between Hideo itami and Sami Zayn, the
japanese superstar got a very.... unpleasant surprise. "The Wrestling
Machine" Kurt Angle stormed the ring and quickly attacked Hideo,
unleashing a fury of German Suplexes and finishing with an Angle Slam.
NXT General Manager William Regal quickly tried to take control of the
situation but got a headbutt and an Ankle Lock for his troubles. Ladies
and gentlemen.... Kurt Angle is back.
- In the tag team division, The Ascension continues showing their
dominance, holding the titles for over a year. Currently, the team of
Damien Sandow and Curtis Axel are on the pursuit but their failed
attempts have opened room for a new team to step up: Rey Mysterio and
RVD. The veterans seem keen in stopping The Ascensions reign of terror
and will be gunning for the championships.
- Finally, the women have room to breathe. And wrestle. Ever since
women’s wrestling became exclusive to the NXT Brand, the fans have
witnessed fantastic matches. NXT Women’s Champion Natalya can’t take a
rest, as challengers just don’t stop appearing. This time is AJ Lee and
Naomi, who want to taste the gold. But, according rumours, there’s other
women ready to enter the division ranks….. Apparently only waiting for
the right opportunity….
