- Welcome
everyone to the last edition of Monday Night RAW before our big PPV Payback!
It’s already this Sunday and tonight we’re starting with a very upset Triple H
coming down to the ring, clearly not very amused with the recent events. The
COO starts by saying that these last couple of weeks have been pretty rough for
him and The Authority. He goes on to say that he hasn’t heard a single word
from Kane, Chris Jericho or The Big Show ever since Lesnar took them out and
that Lesnar himself keeps texting him and calling him every single day about
the Masked Man that attacked him. He already launched his phone to the street
since he could no longer take it. “The King of Kings” then says that as if
things weren’t bad enough, their own WWE World Heavyweight Champion lets his
title get taken from him just like that and then he has to deal with his crying
and two other idiots trying to pull a fast one on him. Well, enough is enough
and it’s time to punish everyone without mercy! Triple H then says he has
decided that at Payback, Seth Rollins will defend the WWE World Heavyweight
Championship against Dean Ambrose, Sheamus and……. Bray Wyatt in a Fatal 4-Way
Match! The crowd cheers for the decision.
- As Triple H tries to go on, Seth
Rollins theme hits and out comes the champion, throwing a huge fit as he walks
towards the ring. Rollins begins shouting at Triple H, asking him what the hell
he is doing. He says the COO should be helping him, their champion, get the
title back but instead, all he sees is bad decision after bad decision, always
trying to hurt him. Rollins says this is an outrage and he demands justice
right here, right now. Triple H gets near Rollins face, as the crowd begins to
cheer! Triple H warns Rollins one last time about the way he talks to him and
goes on to remind him that it was Rollins who affirmed that he didn’t need The
Authority anymore and could do it all by himself. So now, it’s time to start
living by those words and it will start tonight, when he faces…… John Cena in
the Main Event! The crowd goes wild as Triple H tells a shocked Rollins to
“Suck it”! Huge Main Event tonight but coming up next, The New Day faces Gold
& Stardust in a tag team action!
Match 1 – VS
- The
New Day tried to make the best use of their numbers again, with Xavier Woods
causing several distractions on the outside. Goldust got manhandled most of the
match by both Big E and Kofi, suffering several double team moves and
submissions. The breakthrough came when Kofi missed a Diving Crossbody,
allowing “The Bizzare One” to create an opening for his team, hitting a great
combination of punches and a Powerslam. The tag was finally made on Stardust,
who quickly put down The New Day with an explosive offense, even trying The
Queen's Crossbow but Xavier Woods provided the distraction long enough for Big
E, now the legal man, to break the hold and cut the momentum short. Big E tried
to end the contest with the Big Ending but Stardust reversed into a Swinging
DDT and made the tag to his brother, who cleaned house once more.
- Goldust hit
the Final Cut on Big E but again Woods went for the distraction until Stardust
finally caught him with the Disaster Kick on the outside, allowing Kofi to tag
in and go for Trouble in Paradise but somehow Goldust did a brilliant counter
and hit a Curtain Call for the 3 count!
Winner: Gold & Stardust
- The New Day looks shocked at the defeat, while
Gold & Stardust celebrate the ending of their losing streak, showing that
this time the numbers did not gain advantage. A very important win for the future
of the Rhodes brothers.
- Backstage we see Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose
talking to each other about their tag team match tonight against United States
Champion Kevin Owens and Sheamus. Ambrose says that he has a feeling that after
all is said and done at Payback, they are both walking out of that arena as
champions, just like they dreamed about. Reigns goes on to say that he’s more
ready than ever and that Owens will be in for a brutal beating this Sunday and
he will became the next United States Champion. At that very moment, Owens and
Sheamus walk in and a smilling Owens starts ripping Reigns words, saying that
he’s used to beatings and he doubts that Reigns can actually do something
different. He goes on to say that’s all big talk coming from someone who can’t
even pronounce words correctly on a microphone so he would advise him to just
be quiet and enjoy the Kevin Owens show. Ambrose jumps in and tells Owens to
watch out because tonight they’re going to show a preview of things to come and
tells Sheamus that he better bring his A game because he’s eager to throw some
irish trash out of the building. They all stare face to face until Owens and
Sheamus leave the room, leaving the former Shield members pumped up for
tonight.
- Back to the broadcast team, Michael Cole
informs that tonight we’re going to decide who will be the new Nº1 Contenders
for the WWE Tag Team Championships but in a very different fashion! Apparently
The Wyatt Family challenged Neville to a match tonight against Bo Wyatt with
the stipulation that if Neville wins, the Englishman and Bad News Barrett will
receive a WWE Tag Team Championship match at Payback against current champions
Luke Harper & Erick Rowan! Speaking of Bad News Barrett, there are rumours
that the British superstar was found knocked out inside a room earlier today,
most likely actions done by the vicious Wyatts. Will the exciting Neville be
able to overcome the unpredictability of the Wyatts tonight on his own and get
an opportunity at the titles? Don’t you dare miss it! Coming up next, The Miz
goes 1-on-1 against Heath Slater!
Match 2 – VS
- The
Miz and R-Truth came down to the ring, saying how the system keeps providing
for the same people over and over and always forgetting about them. R-Truth
goes on to say that if no one listens to them backstage then perhaps they will
listen this way. Both Miz and Truth begin assaulting Slater, throwing him all
over the ring. The referee hasn’t started this match yet and tries to stop the
vicious onslaught from Awesome Truth.
- R-Truth brings a chair to the ring and
places on the turnbuckle, allowing The Miz to irish whip the defenceless Slater
against the chair, hitting it hard with his head. R-Truth leaves the ring as
Miz yells at the referee to start the match. The match officially beings, with
Miz picking him Slater and slapping him several times while talking to the
camera as the crowd boos.
- The Miz then hits the Skull Crushing Finale twice,
leaving Slater completely unconscious before doing the easy pin.
Winner: The Miz
- The Miz picks the microphone again and speaks
closely to the camera, saying that the time where they behaved like good
little soldiers is over and from this moment on, they are going to take everything, no
questions asked. R-Truth picks up Slater and hits the Little Jimmy, adding even
more insult to injury. The crowd shows their displeasure at the actions of
Awesome Truth as the duo pose over Slater.
- After the small commercial break, the crowd
goes on frenzy as Daniel Bryan’s theme song plays and out comes “The Yes Man”
with his lovely wife Brie Bella by his side. The crowd continues their chants, not
allowing Bryan to speak up. Finally, Daniel goes on to thank the fans of the
constant support he gets, telling how they are truly the best. Then Bryan goes
on to a more serious subject and mentions Randy Orton, which leads to the crowd
booing him out of this building. Daniel Bryan goes on to say that what Orton
did last week was low, very low and that went too far. It got into the realm of
his family, which is something he can’t allow ever again. Bryan says he was
forced to talk to authorities about what happened but that’s not the way he’s
used to solve issues. He has other ways to solve it and that’s calling Orton
right here right now! Bryan says he doesn’t care about their Best of 5 Series
anymore or even the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. All he cares about
right now is to kick Randy Orton’s teeth’s down his throat! A huge “Yes” chant
begins. Daniel takes his shirt off and yells for Orton to come out and get this
done with!
- Randy Orton’s theme plays, making Bryan eager to get his hands on
the man who threatened his wife. After several minutes, Orton is nowhere to be
seen until “The Viper” appears from the crowd and nails Bryan on the back of
the head. Orton goes on to kick and punch Bryan without mercy and handcuffing
him on the ropes, as Brie Bella screams for help. The sociopath Randy Orton
begins changing his sights to Brie Bella, with Bryan regaining his
consciousness and yelling Orton to leave her alone.
- Orton begins creeping Brie
Bella until she slaps him right in the face, leading Randy Orton to a smile and
a brutal RKO! Daniel Bryan is furious and tries to break the handcuffs while
Orton walks near him and stares with an empty look in his eyes. The WWE
officials come rushing down the ring, while Orton quickly flees through the
crowd, leaving the arena with a deafening silence. What a disturbing moment…..
- Back at the announcers table and the broadcast
team is still shocked at the actions of Randy Orton. Michael Cole says Orton
needs serious help and he should be suspended from any activity, mentioning how
he’s a dangerous to everyone in the arena. JBL informs that Brie Bella has been
rushed to the hospital and there’s a big possibility of a severe concussion.
They end by saying they’ll keep everyone informed for more updates. Moving on,
coming up next "Mexico's Greatest Export” Alberto Del Rio will battle “The
Swiss Superman” Cesaro!
Match 3 – VS
- A
very stiff match that started with Del Rio being extremely aggressive but with
Cesaro showing all of his strength and ability, countering several submission
attempts early on. With Mr. Marella on Del Rio’s corner, the new manager kept
motivating his client, asking him to continue his vicious approach while on the
other side Cesaro’s partner, Tyson Kidd, was also supporting his friend. After
some back and forth, Del Rio managed to get Cesaro on the turnbuckle and tried
his known Double Foot Stomp but amazingly, Cesaro pushed himself up and hit a
fantastic Belly to Belly from the top rope. Cesaro then went on a European Uppercut
rampage, hitting Del Rio with everything he got, finishing it off with a
Springboard European Uppercut.
- A dizzy Del Rio felt into Cesaro Neutralizer but
“The Mexican Aristocrat” reversed it and hit a Low Super Kick, which many
thought it was the end of the match. To everyone’s surprise, Cesaro kicked out
at the last second, making Del Rio lose his cool. Alberto Del Rio then set up
his Cross Armbreaker submission but with sheer power, Cesaro turned it into a
Gutwrench Suplex, followed by the Cesaro Swing, which the crowd loved.
- Immediately
he turned it into The Sharpshooter, which made Mr. Marella jump on the apron
but Tyson Kidd was well aware of the potential shenaningans and pulled Marella
down and teased a punch to the face. Meanwhile, in the ring Del Rio took
advantage of the action outside to reach the buttom ropes near the turnbuckle and
turned it into a roll-up, holding the ropes for the win!
Winner: Alberto Del Rio
- Del Rio quickly leaves the ring and joins Mr.
Marella in celebration while Cesaro shows clear signs of frustration knowing
that he had the match in his hands and let it slip away.
- Suddenly the lights go out and Bray Wyatt
appears on the ramp sitting on his wood chair, with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
in his possession. “The Eater of Worlds” speaks for the first time since
beginning a series of mysterious assaults to WWE superstars. Wyatt begins
saying that it’s getting closer. He can already feel it and smell it. He goes
on to say that the final stage is near and that’s exactly when “he” will show
his presence, in all his glory and might. He knows "he" will show up because he’s
making sure of it. He’s making sure that he has everything in his possession
that could possibly hypnotise “him” and make “him” come running down, eager
to show the world everything they desire. The people want “him” and so does he.
Bray Wyatt then finishes by saying for “him” to follow the buzzards, leaving the
WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the ring before disappearing.
- Back at ringside, Michael Cole and JBL try to
understand Wyatt’s words but they have no idea who’s the “him” he kept
mentioning or what his true motivations are. They also mention how WWE
officials have retrieved the WWE World Heavyweight Championship left by Wyatt
and will return it to its owner, Seth Rollins. Still, we’re not done with The
Wyatts for tonight. The Family has apparently baited Neville into a match
against Bo Wyatt, with the possibility of getting a WWE Tag Team Championship
Match this Sunday at Payback but for that Neville must defeat “The Dark
Brother” in what could very well be a set-up. That match is next!
Nº1 Contenders Match
Match 4 – VS
- Much
to the surprise of everyone in the arena, Bo Wyatt comes down to the ring all
alone, again leaving in the air the possibility of this being a set-up from The
Wyatt Family. The match was very much even, with Neville trying to make use of
his areal offense while Bo Wyatt wanted to keep the bout on the ground and at a
more desired pace. After a missed springboard moonsault by Neville, Bo Wyatt started
working on the legs, with the goal of diminishing the Brits best weapons. After
several stomps and leg slams, Bo locked in a Half Boston Crab but the always
resilient Neville reversed it into a pin combination, almost securing the win.
With the crowd fully behind him, Neville was on fire and hit Bo with everything
he got, from multiple variations of kicks to a beautiful german suplex followed
by an impressive Standing Moonsault.
- As the match was getting closer to the
finale, Neville hit a fantastic Pop-up sitout powerbomb and went for the Red
Arrow but at that moment, the lights went out and out of nowhere, Luke Harper
and Erick Rowan appear which means that Neville is in big trouble. When
everything seemed lost, Bad News Barrett comes rushing down the ring much to
the crowd’s delight, still showing signs of an earlier attack.
- The “King of Bad
News” used a chain to knock out Luke Harper and then hit the Bull Hammer on
Erick Rowan, while in the ring Neville took the opportunity to hit an Inverted
Frankensteiner and finish off the Wyatt brother with the Red Arrow! Neville and
Bad News Barrett have earned a WWE Tag Team Championship Match!
Winner: Neville
New Nº1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championships: Neville & BNB
- The crowd pops hard for the victorious Neville,
while he embraces Barrett inside the ring, showing that both men are on the
same page and are finally getting the upper hand against the malicious Wyatts.
Will the British duo be able to do even more history this Sunday?
- Backstage we see John Cena being interviewed by
Renee Young. She asks Cena if Batista has answered his last week challenge for
Payback, which gets a very quick reply by “The Cenation Leader”. Cena says he’s
been waiting all week for a simple reply, an e-mail, a text, a phone call, a
satellite video, a promo video, a fax, a damn letter but nothing. No answer
whatsoever which doesn’t really surprise him. Cena goes on to mention how this
is classic Batista, always complaining and crying about things he didn’t get
but when he gets the opportunity to do so, he backs out. Everyone wants to be
the man but not everyone can endure what it takes to be the man and that’s
exactly what Batista has shown the world. He may have a future in Hollywood but
he clearly doesn’t have a future or even a present in WWE. Cena goes on to say
that the same way Batista failed his MMA aspirations, he most likely will fail
his Hollywood ones as well because that’s how he really is; a failure who can’t live up to
the task. Harsh words by John Cena here, clearly trying to provoke some kind of
reaction from “The Animal”.
- We return to backstage area where Triple H is
talking to a staff member until Seth Rollins, now with the WWE World
Heavyweight Championship back in his possession, appears. He’s all smiles and
pats on the back, telling Triple H that he shouldn’t worry anymore, the
championships is back where it belongs so it’s time to turn the page and make
amends. He tells Triple H that they could start over and what better way to do
it than to cancel that ridiculous Fatal 4-Way Match for Payback and turn their
attentions to The Wyatt Family and their agenda. “The Game” suddenly slaps
Rollins and warns him that next time, it won’t be only a slap but a real ass
beating! He tells Rollins if he wants to make amends, he can start by beating
Cena tonight and then retain the championship this Sunday or else, he might
start looking for a better candidate to represent The Authority, since Rollins
clearly isn’t all that he expected to be. Rollins throws another fit, looking
furious. Coming up next, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose team up to face the
United States Champion Kevin Owens and Sheamus in some hard-hitting tag team
action!
Match 5
VS
- This
match became a fight from the get-go, with Ambrose and Sheamus going at each
other with full force. The villains had a hard time gaining any kind of
momentum since the past experience that both Ambrose and Reigns had from their
Shield days clearly played a part here, with constant tags and a clear
gameplan. Due to a missed Leaping Clothesline, Reigns got caught by Sheamus on
the ropes, which created the perfect opportunity for the “Celitc Warrior” to go
for his Beats of the Bodhrán forearm clubs. A groggy Reigns tried to fight back
but Sheamus planted “The Big Dog” with a Front Powerslam and then tagged in
Owens, who talked all kinds of trash to Reign’s face. Owens’s mouth
unfortunately put him in jeopardy as Reigns showed signs of a comeback, hitting
several clotheslines followed by his patented Drive By Kick on the outside.
Roman was on fire and went for his Superman Punch on the United States Champion
but a fantastic counter by Owens turned the tables, when he hit a vicious
german suplex against the corner.
- Owens then went for his cannonball but Reigns
moved and tagged in “The Lunatic Fringe”, who cleaned house and actually hit
Dirty Deeds on Owens. Fortunately, Sheamus was fast enough to break the count,
with lead to Reigns Superman Punching Sheamus out of the ring.
- In the mist of
chaos, Reigns went for a Spear on the confused Owens but hit Ambrose instead.
The opportunistic Owens quickly Super Kicked Reigns, sending him to the outside
and covered the fallen Ambrose for the three count.
Winners: United States Champion Kevin Owens & Sheamus
- Roman Reigns couldn’t believe he just hit his
friend and costed the match for his team. He checks on Ambrose but that
distraction was enough for Kevin Owens to re-enter the ring and club the back
of Reign’s head.
- Owens shouts “WELCOME TO THE KEVIN OWENS SHOW” before sending
Reigns against the ropes and hitting the Pop-Up Powerbomb. The United States
Champion just gained much needed momentum for this Sunday’s match, which
promises to be extremely brutal.
- We return after a small commercial break and we
get Michael Cole hyping this Sunday’s Payback PPV. He informs that by orders of
COO Triple H, the match between John Cena and Batista is now official, even
though there’s no real reply from “The Animal” himself. JBL wonders if Batista
is even aware of Triple H’s decision. They also say that a new match has been
made official, as Alberto Del Rio will face Cesaro in a rematch and hype the
third match between Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton, with “The Apex Predator”
leading with 2-0 over “The Yes Man” and is that close to secure a future WWE
World Heavyweight Championship Match! Speaking of which, coming up next our
Main Event! The WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, now with his title
around the waist, will battle John Cena!
Main Event – VS
- A
more confident Rollins walks to the ring after recuperating his championship.
On the other side, a not so happy John Cena gets the action started in an
explosive fashion, overpowering the champion early on and setting a high pace.
Cena completely dominates the bout, using all of his brawler skills with
several punches and aggressive Snap Suplexes. A disoriented Rollins tried to
get back to the match but Cena was on battle mode and went all out with his
signature Shoulder Blocks and the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Batista has really got
into Cena’s mind, with the “Cenation Leader” showing a mean streak here
tonight. Cena then waited for Rollins to get up and end the contest with the AA
but fortunately for the champion, he managed to counter it and hit a nasty DDT,
planting Cena on the mat.
- With this, Rollins saw an opening for the first time
in the match and went to attack Cena with everything he got, hitting a
Turnbuckle Powerbomb followed by the Avada Kedavra Super Kick and almost
getting the 3 count.
- With the match on Rollins side, "The Architect” went
for The Pedigree but the always focused Cena turned the tables and locked in
the STFU, leaving Rollins in serious trouble. Showing amazing resiliency, Seth
finally reached the ropes and avoided another AA from Cena, turning it into a
Sitout Suplex Slam. The WWE World Heavyweight Champion became full of himself
and went for the top rope with intentions to finish it with the Phoenix Splash.
In another extraordinary display of sheer power, Cena picks Rollins in mid-air
and went for the AA but again Rollins avoided by grabbing the ropes for dear
life.
- Cena had enough and tried to AA Seth to the outside but Rollins, always
showing amazing athleticism, managed to land on his feet on the apron and hit
the unware Cena with a powerful Diving High Knee, hitting the referee in the
process as well. Rollins then followed by hitting The Pedigree but he soon
realized there was no official to count the pin.
- Suddenly, the lights
went out and The Wyatt Family show up on the stage, ready to hit the ring much to
Rollins panic. The WWE Champion quickly runs for his life, leaving through the
crowd with title in hand while Bray laughs and shouts “RUN!” before disappearing once more.
- Meanwhile, in the ring John Cena finally recovers but not for long as “The
Animal” Batista appears and Spears him, almost breaking him in half. The match
ends in a No Contest.
No Contest
- Batista shows all of his rage by assaulting
Cena with vicious elbows to the forehead, opening a big wound that started to
bleed. The crowd booed while Batista kept destroying “The Cenation Leader”,
hitting a destructive Spinebuster and a Batista Bomb. As if this wasn’t enough,
Batista sent Cena to the outside and cleared the announcers table, which was a
clear sign of danger. Batista goes for the Batista Bomb but stops before
looking at the crowd.
- Instead, “The Animal” mocks Cena’s “You Can’t See Me”
taunt and hits an AA through the announcers table, as the crowd chant “Holy
Sh*” several times. Batista watches the decimation he just did and unleashes a
scary shout to end a very violent Monday Night Raw. It seems the answer has
been given and we’ll have one hell of a PPV this Sunday! Don’t you dare miss
it! Goodnight!
