- We welcome you to Wednesday Night, NXT! Coming
off fresh out of Extreme Rules, there’s plenty of look forward tonight and
apparently we’ll be starting with Emma facing the “Anti-Diva” Paige, who made
quite an impact last Sunday!
Match 1 – VS
- The
crowd has mixed feelings towards Paige but she apparently doesn’t care as she
goes all out on Emma even before the referee calls for the bell! Paige
unleashes a fury of punches, with the referee separating both competitors and
finally starting the match officially. Paige picks a dizzy Emma up and slaps
her multiple times, shouting at her and dropping her with a neckbreaker. Paige
taunts as the crowd boos. Paige picks Emma once more and hits a backbreaker,
followed by a running elbow to the chest. “The Anti-Diva” is in full control
right now, while Emma is yet to show some offense. Paige starts punching Emma’s
head hard, with the referee warning the British superstar. She then picks Emma
again and shouts “THIS IS MY HOUSE” but wait! Emma with a standing dropkick!
Emma with another dropkick! Emma tries a third dropkick! COUNTER! Paige moved
away and hits a vicious big boot to the face! That was nasty!
- She picks Emma up
and hits the Ram-Paige!! 1-2-3!! Strong showing by Paige here, giving almost no
chances to Emma.
Winner: Paige
- Paige celebrates in the ring as the NXT Women’s
Champion Natalya comes rushing down the ramp, trying to get some retribution!
Paige manages to escape through the crowd, while a furious Natalya calls her out.
- We return to NXT and on the announcers table,
Rich Brennan and Byron Saxton informs us that next week we’ll be seeing the
debut of Apollo Crews! Also, tonight Kurt Angle will come out and speak out
about what happened at Extreme Rules in the match against Hideo Itami for the
NXT Intercontinental Championship! Coming up, The Vaudevillains make their
awaited debut against the Rose Express!
Match 2
VS
- The
crowd shows their support for the newcomers, as the match is about to start.
Aiden English and Fandango get things going, with Adam Rose watching from
ringside. Both men exchange holds until Fandango locks in a headlock, forcing
Aiden to go down. Fandango applies some more pressure until he releases the
hold and hits a leg drop, followed by a knee drop, while going back to the
headlock. The fans chants for The Vaudevillains, who didn’t had a great start
here. Aiden begins showing signs of a comeback, getting himself up and hitting
Fandango with multiple punches to the gut, getting himself free from the hold.
DROPKICK! Fandango hits a great dropkick on Aiden, preventing him from gaining
any momentum. He tags in Tyler Breeze, who hits an elbow drop to the back,
followed by a strong kick. Tyler goes
for the cover! 1-2-… KICK OUT! Tyler picks Aiden up and goes for the suplex but
Aiden blocks it! Breeze keeps trying but gets countered!! Suplex by Aiden!
Aiden tries to reach Simon Gotch but Fandango distracts the referee long enough
for Adam Rose to pull down Gotch, before running away. This gives enough time
for Breeze to grab Aiden again…. Enziguri! Great move by Aiden! Both Aiden
English and Tyler Breeze get up at the same time but this time it’s "The
Artiste" who gets the advantage! Atomic Drop! And now a Swinging
neckbreaker! Aiden goes for the tag on Simon Gotch and he gets it! Gotch cleans
house, punching Fandango on the apron and hitting a Rolling fireman's carry
slam on Breeze! He starts to get fired up and grabs Breeze for the Gentleman's
Clutch! Wait! Breeze reverses! Beauty Shot! MISSED! Gotch ducks and hits a Back
body drop! Adam Rose goes on the apron again but this time Aiden English gets
him! Director's Cut! On the concret floor! In the ring, Breeze manages to tag
in Fandango, who goes for a Roundhouse Kick! Ducked again! Gotch with a
dropkick on Breeze, sending him outside! Gentleman’s Clutch!! It’s locked in on
Fandango!! He taps! Fandango taps and The Vaudevillains earn their first
victory on NXT!
Winners: The Vaudevillains
- While The Vaudevillains celebrate their first win, Adam Rose shows his displeasure to both
Fandango and Tyler Breeze, telling them how they keep failing him on every
turn. Fandango and Tyler Breeze apparently had enough and simply leave,
ignoring Rose. It seems we may be witnessing the last days of The Rose Express!
- We see
footage of Kurt Angle vs Hideo Itami’s match and the somewhat controversial
ending, with neither man answering the 10 call. We are then showed a video
promo hyping next week’s debut of Apollo Crews!
- We return
to NXT and Byron Saxton has some breaking news! First, he lets us know that NXT
Champion Finn Balor is not here tonight and neither is his Extreme Rules
opponent Corey Graves, both attending to injuries following their violent match
last Sunday. Still, big news came out saying that next week there will be a
Triple Threat Match to determine the next Nº1 Contender for the NXT
Championship! Samoa Joe, Sami Zayn and Corey Graves will battle for an
opportunity at Balor’s NXT Title! Can’t miss it! But coming up next, one of the
competitors of the Triple Threat is in action, as Samoa Joe faces Adam Rose!
Stay tuned!
Match 3 – VS
-
Adam
Rose comes to the ring alone, in a clear sign that The Rose Express is showing potential disintegration. The match starts with Joe overpowering Rose early on,
hitting some strong punches and chops, followed by a back body drop. Joe then
goes for a running senton but Rose moves, hitting a low running elbow right
into Joe’s chin. Rose then starts stomping Joe non-stop, showing off all of his
frustration and anger. Rose picks Joe up and locks in an Abdominal Stretch! He
keeps applying pressure while the referee checks in on Joe. “The Samoan
Submission Machine” begins to show signs of a comeback, hitting some strong
head-butts on Rose, freeing himself and hitting a clothesline, sending Rose to
the ground. Joe grabs Rose…. ROLL UP! 1-2…..kick out! Rose went for the
surprise finish but Joe kicks out, going for another clothesline! Watch out!

clear warning for Sami Zayn and Corey Graves. Meanwhile, a broken Adam Rose
gets helped to the back by doctors with no signs of Tyler Breeze or Fandango.
- We return
to NXT broadcast and it’s Jo-Jo with Christian backstage. Jo-Jo asks Christian
what’s his thoughts about his match with Baron Corbin tonight. Christian starts
by stating that he had no problems with Corbin. In fact, he wanted to help Corbin
improve on NXT and reach the next level but things didn’t go as planned and
their constant miscommunications created a strain in their relationship.
“Captain Charisma” goes on how he knows how good Corbin is but he’s still not
good enough and he will show it tonight and solve the issue for good. Christian
vs Baron Corbin, next!
Match 4 – VS
- Christian
goes for a hand shake as the match starts but Corbin doesn’t look interested in
it and just goes for a hard slap to the face, followed by a back suplex! Corbin
doesn’t seem interested in playing around here. Corbin starts working on
Christian’s head, hitting multiple stomps, followed by multiple elbow drops to
the chest. Early cover! Kick out! Christian tries to regain his ground but Corbin
goes on it again, hitting some vicious punches to the head and doing a powerful
irish whip, sending Christian crashing against the corner. Corbin then locks in a chinlock, applying
severe pressure. Christian tries to crawl to the ropes and manages, making the
referee break the hold. Corbin quickly pulls Christian by his legs back in to
the center of the ring…. Enziguri! Great move by Christian! Corbin is groggy
and “Captain Charisma” takes the opportunity to hit an Inverted DDT! Cover!
1-2-kick out! Christian goes for some hard chops and sends Corbin to the
corner. He goes for his Tornado DDT but Corbin blocks! Watch out! Powerslam by

more for a hand shake but Corbin ignores it again and just leaves, apparently
extremely upset about the defeat.
- We return
to NXT and out comes “The Olympic Gold Medalist” Kurt Angle! Angle grabs the
microphone and starts by stating that he won. He is here tonight, in front of
everyone and that can only mean one thing; he is the Last man standing. Angle
admits that he didn’t made the 10 count last Sunday but it doesn’t matter
anymore because he is here, standing unlike Hideo Itami and because of that he
wants, no, he DEMANDS to be granted the NXT Intecontinental Championship right
now. Kurt says Hideo is one hell of a competitor but clearly not on his league
otherwise he would be here, in his place and he is not. Angle then calls out
NXT General Manager William Regal and demands the NXT Intercontinental
Championship once more.
- Out comes
William Regal, who quickly points out how Angle has changed. The true Kurt
Angle he once knew never demanded things; he just fought and earns them like a
champion that he was. Unfortunately, it seems his ideals have changed big time.
Regal goes on to give props to Angle for being able to even stand after their
brutal match at Extreme Rules but he can’t just handle him the NXT
Intercontinental Championship. That’s not how things work around here. William
Regal then says that Kurt will have the opportunity to get the title tonight
but for that to happen, he will have to defeat this man, right now!
- It’s Hideo
Itami!! Itami is here! Kurt Angle looks in shock, being caught completely by
surprise with Itami’s presence and it seems we’re going to have a NXT
Intercontinental Championship match right now!!
Main Event – VS

the bell even rings, Hideo is all over Angle! Hideo goes for multiple kicks and
chops, followed by a fantastic Snap Suplex! Itami then goes to the ropes and
hits a low dropkick right into Angle’s chin! “The Japanese Sensation” doesn’t
stop and goes up to the top rope! Missile Dropkick! Connects! Itami with the
Dragon Sleeper!! Angle is in trouble right now! Hideo Itami is a man on a
mission! Itami applies pressure; while Angle tries everything he can
to break the hold. Angle finally starts getting up and turns the Dragon Sleeper
into a Northern Lights suplex! Great counter. Angle finally seems to regain his
composure, while showing clear signs of rage. Angle goes on to stomp Hideo
several times, followed by a knee slam. Angle picks Hideo up and hits a Snap
Suplex of his own. “The Wrestling Machine” is apparently starting to get
control of the match. Angle locks in a bodyscissors and starts elbowing Hideo
in the face! HOLD ON! Hideo with the roll! Kick to the face! What a kick! Hideo
for the cover! 1-2-……………KICK OUT! Hideo grabs Angle and goes for a fantastic Standing
high-angle sitout powerbomb! Pin! 1-2-3………………….KICK OUT! Hideo is showing
signs of fatigue and pain right now. Hideo waits for Angle to get up…. Hideo goes for
another Roundhouse Kick! NO, DUCKED! Angle with the Ankle Lock!!! It’s locked
in!! WAIT, REVERSED! Hideo just reversed the Ankle Lock, sending Kurt between
the ropes and to the outside! Oh no, not again…. Hideo looks at the crowd, who
chants his name. SUICIDE DIVE!! Angle got him!! Belly to Belly!! REVERSED!
- Tornado DDT on the concrete floor!! Amazing! Amazing combination of reversals
right here! These men are outstanding. Hideo slowly pushes Angle to the ring……
- ANGLE SLAM!! That’s it! Angle got it! 1-2-……………………………………………….. KICK OUT!!!!
Angle can’t believe it, Hideo still managed to kick out! Angle waits for Hideo
and sets up the Angle Slam again! Watch out! NO! Hideo with a German Suplex!!
Hideo is setting up his Shotgun Kick! Misses! Angle with a German Suplex of his
own! OHH! Hideo lands on his feet! GTS!! Angle grabs the ropes! Angle starts
hitting several elbows to the face, making Hideo releasing the hold. Chop
block!!
- Ankle Lock!!! Hideo has nowhere to go!! Angle shouts at the referee to
ask him, as Hideo is almost passing out! The referee checks on Hideo but he isn’t
responding! WAIT! ROLL! Crossface!!! Hideo just did the impossible and reversed
the Ankle Lock into a Crossface!!! Now it’s Angle who’s in trouble!! The crowd
is on frenzy, as Kurt desperatly tries to reach the ropes!!!
- What the…?!! That’s…..
That’s Jack Swagger! He’s beating Hideo up and the referee calls for the disqualification and we still don't have a NXT Intercontinental Champion!
Winner by DQ: Hideo Itami
- Jack
Swagger keeps manhandling Hideo, hitting a Gutwrench powerbomb. The crowd boos,
as Angle is already up. He looks up to Swagger and starts smiling. Angle
tells Swagger to pick Hideo up.
- Angle Slam! Kurt Angle plants Hideo on the
mat. He then orders Swagger to go for
his leg. Patriot Lock! Swagger applies pressure and Angle taunts an unconscious
Hideo. Swagger and Angle then finally leave the ring to a rain of boos, with
the EMTs attending to a hurt Hideo Itami. It seems Kurt Angle has found some precious
backup in his goal to take out Itami and gain the NXT Intercontinental Championship!
That’s all for tonight, thank you for watching!
